- Promote equestrian sport events and competitions, reactivating the equestrian tradition of Pedras Salgadas;
- Develop training and riding practice;
- Promote the riding for therapeutic purposes to all individuals with special needs and improving the quality of life;
- Lodging, chipping and taking care of horses from public and private entities;
- Develop professional training period and other training;
- Develop community activities and camps;
- Ensure the excellence of services, infrastructure and technical qualification of professionals.
Therapeutic Riding
The Equestrian Centre of Pedras Salgadas is the first and only space in Alto Tâmega to develop a project for Therapeutic Riding with a team made up of health professionals and technical riding instructors;
The Hipo therapy is a therapeutic method, rich in stimuli, sensory motor, cognitive and emotional, recurring to the use of the horse within a multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary approach in the areas of health, education and riding, promoting awareness, resulting in improvements in spatial orientation, motor skills, intellective and psychological development, targeting the biopsychosocial development of people with disabilities and/or special educational needs.
