It is a memorial of the wars of independence. Juxtaposed with a windmill, this monument celebrates the date of 23 April , 1644, which remained in history as the date on which the inhabitants of Lanhelas defended themselves with remarkable bravery,from the Spanish assault. Incidentally, it is also on this day that we celebrate the Day of Lanhelas.
