Brief description: Monte Padrão integrates the Cordova mountain range. The place includes the roman settlement and the Chapel of Nosso Senhor do Padrão, dated from the XVIII century, with a stone cross in the churchyard. On the top, 400 meters above sea level, stands the Monte Padrão Roman Settlement, classified as National Monument in 1910. Built during the IX century B.C, this roman settlement stands on a clear space with traces of a fortified settlement dating from the late Bronze Age, and still occupied during the Middle Ages. The sea, the basin of Leça and the Senhora da Assunção Mountain and Shrine can be seen from here.  It is an important forest area where the reforestation with native species is in progress. The Monte Padrão Interpretative Center deserves a visit.
